The Mystery surrounding 'The love gutter'

When I entered UNIBEN, I was confused when I saw people sitting in a gutter opposite the Hall 2 hostel. As at then I didn't understand why people would sit in a gutter, and I think I do now either. I was duly informed by my roommates and the Redeemed fellowship handbook that the gutter was referred to as 'the love gutter'. I remember thinking to myself 'Wtf!' what sort of love could a 'gutter' of all places represent? Gutter love?! I honestly don't get it oh, and I would want a little explanation.

I don't understand why two students would sit down for hours in a gutter where water flows, whether the gutter is neat or not, it's not even comfortable! I have even heard rumours that some students who are in heat go as far as 'doing it' late at night. There are many love spots in uniben, bus stops, dark corners, empty faculties and even the almighty hall 2 ebelebo tree (that one sef na different case wey I go face another time), etc so I honestly don't get the fascination some students have for the gutter, after all its a gutter. So if you end up beaten by a snake, your excuse would be that "You were in the love gutter?!"

Abeg you guys should tell me your views, what is the mystery surrounding 'the love gutter'. By the way, the gutter has being lacking love since this ASUU strike. Let's hope the strike will be called off soonest, I hear next week Monday.
