4 prostitutes fight over sex workers and get arrested

NAN reports that 4 sex workers, who fought in public because they couldn't share the customer, were on May 16 arraigned before an Itire Magistrates' Court, Lagos.

Those involved in the case are: Joy Morkoham, Blessing Ugbo, Tayo Folarin, Tina Osakwe.

Prosecution provided that those accused of affray and breach of public peace started the mess in one of Lagos hotels on Wednesday.

All the accused pleaded not guilty and were granted a N30, 000 bail each. The case was adjourned to June 16 for substantive trial.

Pastor rapes school girls, pleads not guilty

One more case of rape commited by the clergyman was heard by FCT High Court on Friday, May 16.

Today Mrs Jacintha Ejiofor, the mother of the victim, who was allegedly raped by a pastor, Emmanuel Matthew, revealed some details of the crime. According to her, a 52-year-old pastor lured the little girl in his bedroom, laid a white bedspread and a red curtain, then put the child on the bed and raped her with his finger and the manhood.

She has claimed that the vicious incident happened last year on March 12 and this crime is not the only one, as similar situations happened to this pastor before. She has told about another mother who had earlier blamed pastor for the same actions and was told to come the next day to hammer down the issue.

But this was never going to happen as the woman was arrested following a complaint made by the Mathew at Mpape Police Station. Reverting to the story of her daughter's sex abuse Mrs Ejofor said that trying to deal with the situation on her own she went to the school but there were neither the pastor nor his wife.

Few moments later she and her daughter were arrested by the police accompanied by the pastor's wife. On the way to the police station the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) interrogated her daughter and the girl repeated her story, describing the accused bedroom.

Thereafter the three girls were sent to the Asokoro General Hospital for medical examination while the policemen headed to the accused house. As the description coincided with the indications and the girls' virginity was not confirmed, General Overseer of The Choice Bible Church, Mpape, Abuja, and proprietor of the primary school was detained.

The accused who raped two 7-year-olds and a 9-year-old pupil in his school pleaded not guilty. The offence contravened the provisions of Section 283 of the Penal Code. Accordig to the law, a convict is liable to 14 years imprisonment or with an option of fine, or both; Emmanuel Matthew was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 and a surety in like sum.

16-yr-old sets text messaging world record, see wat he typed in 18 seconds

A 16-year-old boy, Marcel Fernandes Filho, from Brazil has set the Guinness World Record for the fastest texting on a smartphone touch screen.

Though Marcel set the record on April 25 in New York City, he was officially crowned the texting king today by Guinness.

Fernandes came to New York on the dime of touchscreen-keyboard startup Fleksy, which the teen has used since 2012.

The standard 25-word phrase Guinness uses for the text record-setting is: "The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human."

Fernandes typed out the strange sentences with perfect spelling and capitalization asd required in 18.19 seconds.

As a result, he edged out the previous record of 18.44 set by a 15-year-old using a Microsoft phone at the company's office in January.

* Marcel

The teen told TODAY has been "fascinated by Guinness World Records" since childhood, often searching online for strange and interesting records.

An excited Fernandes, who is studying physics at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, said he isn't "addicted" to texting, and he doesn't spend all day on his phone.

He told reporters that he's been an avid phone user since 2009, when he smashed his laptop with a hammer out of frustration because it was so slow.

An act that he didn't know would set him on the path to a world record.

New father kills 5-week-old son by slamming his face into a cot

A new father killed his five-week-old son because he felt fatherhood meant 'his life was over', a UK court heard today. Matthew Wickens, 24, lost his temper when he was left alone with baby Riley Gardener at the family home in Paignton, Devon.

He shook his son, before slamming his face into a cot - causing him to suffer severe head injuries.

He then repeatedly lied about what he had done - and even tried to cover up the baby's injuries by putting a hat on him. His lies meant Riley's mother, Gemma Gardener, became a suspect and was forced to give up their other son, Jayden, for 14 months. Continue...

But now, Wickens has been jailed for six years and five months after admitting manslaughter at Exeter Crown Court.

Simon Laws QC, prosecuting, said Wickens and Miss Gardener had had an 'on-off' relationship while she was pregnant with Riley, with the former even having 'a relationship with another woman'.

He said Wickens had initially appeared fine with the idea of having a second son, but then 'got cold feet and became ambivalent towards fatherhood'.

'He seemed unwilling or unable to commit himself wholeheartedly to domestic life and regarded it as restricting his freedoms,' he said.

But despite his apparent unwillingness, Wickens eventually moved into Miss Gardener's flat in a bid to 'prove his commitment to their relationship', the court heard.

Mr Laws said Wickens had felt Riley's birth two years ago meant 'his life was over' - and that he had felt he would 'just be a father all the time' and not going out like his friends.

The supermarket worker, who had hoped to join the Army, 'did not like to be told what I can do and what I cannot do' by his partner, he said.

But one day, Wickens agreed to look after Riley as Miss Gardener and their older son, Jayden, went out shopping, the court heard.

He bottle-fed and changed the baby, before losing his temper and assaulting his son - shaking him, before slamming his head face down into a cot.

Despite Riley's severe head injuries, Wickens, who was 22 at the time, then failed to summon any medical help for his son.

And when Riley's mother returned home with Jayden from shopping, Wickens left her to discover her 'dying or dead son' in his bed, the court heard. He then repeatedly lied about what had happened - and even put a hat on Riley to cover up a mark on his forehead.

At one point, he claimed he had banged his son's head against the metal arm of a baby swing, before dropping him on the bedroom floor.

His lies meant that Miss Gardener fell under the suspicion of the police - and was forced to give up Jayden for 14 months while she battled care proceedings.

However, a post-mortem examination later revealed that Riley had died from shaking and an impact on November 25, 2012.

Paul Dunkels QC, defending, told the court: '[Wickens] wishes to express his deep regret and remorse. He lost his temper and shook Riley and slammed his face down on to his cot.'

He said Wickens had showed 'cowardice and selfishness to not say what had happened straight away' at the flat in the Winner Street area of Paignton.

He added that the defendant may have been tired after getting up in the night to see to Riley while working long hours, but that was 'no excuse' because parents have to carry on.

Sentencing Wickens, Judge Francis Gilbert QC told him it would remain a 'heavy burden for the rest of your life that you killed your own child'.

He added that the defendant wished he could turn back the clock and that it had 'all been a bad dream'.

UNIBEN students get attacked by dogs at SSQ

‎Two female UNIBEN students were attacked by two ferocious dogs at SSQ on Monday evening. The unfortunate event took place at A quarters of SSQ, A25 street precisely. The girls were walking on the road when one dog ran at them barking ferociously and trying to scale the fence, in fear, they both turned back to walk away when another began to pursue them, even barking more than the first. They tripped and fell and the dogs stopped and watch them stand up and walk away. They sustained several injuries.

Why staff have dogs in a house that is not fenced still baffles me. There is God oh...

‎According to TMZ
Jay Z and Solange Knowles went looking for jewelry together Tuesday afternoon at a high-end NYC jewelry store ... TMZ has learned.
Our sources says Jay and Solange were in Mr. Flawless, where they were looking for women's jewelry for around 20 minutes.
We're told the pair showed no signs of strife, and looked at gems with Mr. Flawless himself. They looked, but tried nothing on. They left the store without buying anything.
Jay & Solange didn't talk much inside the store ... they pretty much just browsed quietly.
