Angry market women and mothers, yesterday stored the Ministry of Education in Abuja yesterday protesting the unending strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities. The women who were led by Madam Felicia Sani urged ASUU not to let themselves become instruments of chaos, insisting that they are now acting as politicians and punishing students.
The women who were in their thousands, first gathered at the Eagle square, took to the streets and later proceeded to the Ministry of Education, and labour and productivity counterpart. They sang solidarity songs while appealing to the strike lecturers to return to the classroom.
They were later addressed as by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Labour and Productivity who assured them that the government was doing everything possible to resolve the lingering strike.
I hope this will actually have an effect before man pikin go forget mat number!
