Today, Wednesday 16th of October, a Lao airlines plane crashed in a river as it tried to land in Pakse international airport killing 44 passengers and 5 crew members on board. Passengers from 11 different countries were on board the plane including 3 south Koreans, 7 French, 1 American, 1 Chinese, 1 Taiwanese, 1 Canadian, 5 Australians and 2 Vietnamese. The plane was heading from the capital of Vientiane to the airport in Champasak province in the southern Asian country. The cause of the crash is said to be bad weather conditions.
