I think this is a perfect definition of burning the midnight oil. It is a norm in most universities to go to class to read at night and UNIBEN Is no exception. But is reading the only thing that is actually done there?
No! Absolutely not! Sleeping is the number one thing that students go to do at night class. People will just deceive themselves, carry their bags to class, only for them to sleep after one hour (that is if they last that long). After spending half of the night, that is if they don't decide to do TDB(till day break), sleeping and drooling. The most annoying part is when they will just serve as an obstruction to students that may want to leave their sits ( you all know how UNIBEN sits are designed, person no fit pass without asking the other person to stand up).
My query is this, If you know you are to tired too read at night, why don't you jejely stay in your room, be it in hall 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or off K rather than deceive yourself finish then go back to your room and people will be calling u 'Scholar!'? Why will someone go to class and spend the whole night sleeping on those uncomfortable chairs?! The worst is that some of them will go and sit on the best spots, under the fan, tell me how won't you doze off? There is enough time to read during the day so why cause yourself discomfort if you know that you won't be able to achieve your aim? The only understandable excuse anyone can give for sleeping almost through out the whole night at nightclass would be that they are squatters at their various halls of residence and need a place to rest for the night.
What do you think? Share your thoughts about these nightclass sleepers, because they haff tire me oh! We shall see a lot of them after this ASUU strike!
